While I understand the convenience of Gift Cards and like the ability to choose my own gift some gift cards are easier to use than others. Most gift cards will either have some weird restriction or an incovinient expiry time. I’m sure in the years before gift cards if people couldn’t decide on a present then they would present money as a gift in the form of cash. After gift cards were introduced that changed and now giving cash is seen as weird and tacky.
